The Terrace
Experience the unique atmosphere of Drouant from the restaurant's outdoor terrace with its Riviera Chic ambiance. The indoor rooms are also open again.
The new Drouant still has the view of peaceful Place Gaillon, the spectacular Ruhlmann staircase, the famous private salons and the warm atmosphere that has made it a success since the late 1920s. But it is also a reinvented, redesigned, refreshed space, respectful of its history but looking resolutely to the future, combining the past with the present.

Over the years, several decorations by different owners had covered up the woodwork, which has now been restored. This means that the site has been historically reinterpreted, showing the original contours of the two buildings that were joined together as Drouant expanded, previously concealed by the large window.
The main dining room and the winter garden feature a delicious blend of colors, materials and light. Walnut woodwork, lacquered walls and thick fabrics blend harmoniously, creating an elegant, warm, joyful space. Still visible of course is the remarkable painted ceiling by Cocteau, who liked to call it “the heaven of the sea”.
The small room at the back with its beautiful high ceiling is the perfect place to exhibit a painting representing the Goncourt jury, fortuitously discovered during the renovation.
However, if there is one that thing that embodies Drouant, it is the superb Ruhlmann staircase, from which the judges announce the winners of the Goncourt and Renaudot prizes every year. A media frenzy gathers at the foot of the staircase on the prize-giving day. The staircase also takes guests up to the intimacy of the mezzanine floor and the private salons. The staircase has of course been conserved, with the addition of an impressive crystal chandelier to make it even more magnificent.
The mezzanine floor offers you a warm, intimate space.
In this light-filled area with its mosaic floor, guests can browse the library, home to original editions of all the books that have won the award since the Prix Goncourt began.
The famous salons are of course still there. Symbolic of Drouant, they have been revived and embellished. They are once again ready to host the jury’s lively debates, as well as guests who want to enjoy a special private moment.
The salons are fully equipped and can be used for any type of event, guaranteeing comfort, tranquility and discretion
